60 cases of female genital mutilation discovered in Swedish school

July 12 full moon first of 3 full-moon supermoons in 2014
In 2014, the July full moon presents the first full moon after the June 21 solstice. In North America we often call this full moon the Buck Moon, Thunder Moon or Hay Moon. Around this time of year, buck deer start growing antlers, thunder storms rage and farmers struggle to pile up hay in their barns.
The July 2014 full moon ushers in the first of three full-moon supermoons in 2014. (Previously, We had two supermoons in January – on January 1 and 30 – but they were new-moon supermoons.) The full moons on July 12, August 10 and September 9 enjoy the supermoon designation because the centers of the moon and Earth are less than 361,863 kilometers (224,851 miles) apart. The closest supermoon of the year comes with the August 10 full moon, showcasing a moon that’s only 356,896 kilometers (221,765 miles) of Earth.
When exactly is the July full moon? The full moon falls at the same instant all over the world: July 12 at 11:25 Universal Time.
Technically speaking, the moon turns full at the instant that the moon lies most opposite the sun for the month. At the vicinity of full moon, however, the moon looks plenty full for a few nights. Because the moon stays more or less opposite the sun throughout the night, watch for a full-looking moon in the east at dusk, highest in the sky around midnight and low in the west at dawn.
When we experience a supermoon, the tidal force is often greater—up to 18 percent. Although that sounds extreme, scientists tell us that much depends on the amplitude of tides and their variation around the world. Even so, a supermoon will result in a noticeably stronger tidal wave force.
It has also been observed that other forces of nature may be impacted by the gravitational pull of a supermoon. Occasionally events like volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and severe weather have happened within a week or so of a supermoon. Among the most notable examples were the 2011 earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand and New Orleans’s Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Astrologically speaking a supermoon is an intensified New Moon or Full Moon. With a New Moon you often focus on personal beginnings, however when a supermoon is involved those new beginnings will take on an even greater momentous tone. The same applies to a Full Moon. Crescendos and culminations of events will seem even more dramatic and climactic.
Super Moons are amplifiers of our energy fields and awaken higher potentials of the current planetary alignments that they are associated with.
