Holger Bech Nielsen - CERN & the Large Hadron Collider 'Being Sabotaged from the Future'
January 28, 2010

Physicist Holger Bech Nielsen, one of the founders of string theory, joins us from the Neils Bohr Institute in Copenhagen to discuss his theories about CERN, the world's biggest and most expensive physics experiment. We talk about the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the model that they are developing at the Neils Bohr Institute and the search for the mysterious Higgs boson particle, also known as the "god" particle. We ask why the LHC haven't been working properly? We further discuss Holger's claim that he made in an interview with the New York Times that the Large Hadron Collider is being "Sabotaged from the Future". We talk about "god", time, history and the future. Topics discussed: Collision, The Standard Model, Higgs Particle, Superstring Theory, Technicolor, 9 Space Dimensions in String Theory, Kaluza-Klein Particles, Quantum, Einstein, Heisenberg, Newton, Big Bang, "God", Imaginary Part of the Action, Big Bang, Superconducting Super Collider (SSC), Bird dropping a bread crumb in the LHC and more. We continue talking about the mystery of "god", the search for the Higgs boson particle, Gluons, Quarks, Protons and Hadrons with physicist Holger Bech Neilsen in our second hour for Red Ice Members. We continue to talk about the ATLAS detector, the development of string theory, the mystery of quantum mechanics and the wave function collapse. We also talk about time travel, we ask if the future is written in stone? How does free will play into this? We talk about random dynamics and their model. We conclude talking about cosmic rays and the Milky Way black hole as a colossal particle accelerator.

What do you think? (25)

I can't thank you enough redice. As usual, another incredible guest with Henrik's excellent questions and great personality!

This was extra special b/c Holger reminded me of Clyde Crashcup, an inventor/scientist cartoon character from the 60's.

I looked up Clyde on youtube and his cartoons are there!

If you want a good laugh, check out Clyde here - http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=clyde+crashcup+and+leonardo&aq=1

Thanks redice!!

Strange week for " Time " interviews
Call it syncronicity, call it coincidence or fate-but both Red Ice Creations and Coast to Coast am have had physicists talking about the same topics all week!! Crazy Good!! As a new listener to Red Ice, I really appreciate the quality of guests on the show-like Dr. Nielsen-I found the interview very interesting and "timely".

I also have listened to C2C am for more than 12 years and starting on January 29 Art Bell interviewed physicist Dr. Michio Kaku and on January 31 Dr David Anderson-physicist as well. George Noory interviewed Nassim Haramein on Feb 3...

Time, time, time. Dr David Lewis Anderson was one of the best interviews -or at least the most jaw dropping interviews- I had heard in a very long time, in terms of the current application of Time Technology (if what he is saying is true). Much of What Dr. Nielsen had to say is supported in this interview although definately different approaches to "universes". I highly recommend Dr. David Lewis Anderson as a guest-however his web site is somewhat disturbing to me.

Free will and fate
Being profoundly unscientific, I can only comment on the very end of the show, where you talked about free will and fate. I've worked it out like this:
IF we are eternal spirits, and IF we can decide what kind of experience we will have before carnation, then we're free (within the boundaries of that experience) to explore all the possibilities the universe provides us with. So, free will, fate, no problem.

Yea
Henrik, everybody loves fireworks. :D
#22 - Alex - 02/04/2010 - 11:41
Painful observation
Alex, if Holger's Model is true, then you've made a painfully interesting observation. I can't help to feel that the world needs some unexpected 'fireworks' now and then. Spice things up a bit.

I'am not sure who he sounds like, but i did find him interesting,I backed up a couple times to understand what he was saying..but once i got a feel for his voice patterns I found it dynamic thought..
#20 - Dave - 02/04/2010 - 05:16
Also, i TOTALLY love accents and I love NIELSEN's
#19 - Alex - 02/04/2010 - 02:13
interesting
especially the "imaginary part of action".
Assuming he is right, if i understand correctly, the universe that wins is the one with the smallest amount of imagination.
if so, i think this might be somehow related with the crazy yet strangely "intuitively acceptable" mckenna's timewave0 theory.
this would also mean that w won't probably have ufos landing, prophets appearing, reptilians shapeshifting before our eyes.
Change will be subtle yet very effective. change will be harmonious. Change will be natural and as painless as our collective self will want it to be.

Aha..
Nice one Henrik,

I'm a new subscriber here and haven't explored everywhere yet... I must have overlooked this while scouring the archives... Downloading now!

Thanks for the heads-up.
Great stuff.

Nassim Haramein
Foolsroad, here is our interview with Nassim Haramein: http://www.redicecreations.com/radio/2008/06jun/RICR-080615.php (Also linked up under our related links)

Strange Love
I have to agree with Vibes here... String theory sounds ridiculous when compared to the 'Unified theory' of Nassim Harramein. Who really should be asked on here as a guest.

Although ~ it is always good to get perspective from all sides.

Great work guys.
#15 - foolsroad - 02/02/2010 - 15:36
Are we encouraging Military Science?
Marko Rodin has said: "String Theory is bunk. The mathmatics show it to be a fallicy."
Michael Tsarion & Eric Phelps have advised us to evalute and UN-LEARN what we are told by the mainstream lie machine.
Are we learning yet?
Meta-physicians speak more sense, because they understand a reality science denies exists, because it is not manifest in material form. That is the weakness of this overly complex lie. Nature and the amazing are always unbelievably simple.
#14 - vibes - 02/01/2010 - 20:23
I live in Denmark Copenhagen and I can reassure people that Holger Bech Nielsen speaks with the exact fervid intonation in his mother tongue.
#13 - Stuart - 02/01/2010 - 16:28
Correction
LHC not LDC. Sorry.
#12 - Sonny - 02/01/2010 - 13:52
Just kidding...
Sorry if my little joke was found offensive, but come on, it was the gorilla in the room. And the interview was well appreciated by me as my 'Good work" comment indicated.

The physics are interesting, but there is legitimate controversy regarding the LDC, in terms of the work and the expense of the facility itself. Big Science has as much to answer for as Big Military in a world where too many don't have enough to eat and a secure place to live.

But Holger seems like a great guy. I hope you have him back.
#11 - Sonny - 02/01/2010 - 13:47
Among your best conversations yet
The physics are almost impenetrably complex, but all of the "god(s)-like" significance, and even the basics, about what is going down at the LHC, came through.

You don't have to get everything, to get a lot, out of an interview. Feels good to be challenged.

This was brilliant, Henrik, keep it up.
#10 - Mark Baard - 01/31/2010 - 20:42
Throwing Pearls
Too bad a few of you who comment are stuck up on Holger’s accent and all other things external. You're missing the point and you’re missing some vital information here from one of the fathers of string theory regarding the most expensive physics experiment in human history. Keep in mind that he’s explaining complex physics in a foreign language. Thanks Duality, carol smith, kingarthurpt, Stevo79 and Duke Westfold for your comments, you’re proof that we’re not just throwing pearls...
#9 - Henrik Palmgren - 01/31/2010 - 12:16
you gotta be kidding
yeah, i thought you guys were just ignorant americans reacting to the accent....
this guy IS der. strangelove! christ, i couldn't listen to him, better to watch dr.stangelove again. i consider it the greatest movie ever made.
sheesh, turn this jackass off. crazy as a fucking loon.
#8 - you gotta be kidding - 01/31/2010 - 01:09
I have a suggestion...
Oh man, Holger is a trip, and he really does sound like Dr. Strangelove.

Good show, but next time you have him as a guest, it would be really something if you you could get him to occasionally blurt out MEIN FUHRER, spontaneously and with feeling, throughout the interview. He seems good natured enough, and that would be great.

Good work.
#7 - Sonny - 01/30/2010 - 23:10
Good show.
#6 - Duality - 01/30/2010 - 07:06
Sorry to say: interview gave me big headache. Groups of scientists who receive huge funding are frightening. Consider most tangible results of scientific research to date: atom, hydrogen, neutron bombs; biological weapons; poison vaccines; robot killers; earth energy modification technology. Profound thinkers like this gentleman risk becoming manipulated 'death technichians' or victims themselves.
#5 - Mike Maybach - 01/30/2010 - 03:23
Thanks for another great interview!
I admire your guest's enthusiasm for his work!
#4 - carol smith - 01/30/2010 - 03:20
lhc@home
it was a little hard to understand everything Holger was saying, but I think he didn't mentioned lhc@home. If you want to help LHC computing their data, you can by installing Boinc. Search for it.
#3 - kingarthurpt - 01/30/2010 - 00:43
I've been waiting to hear an interview with this guy for ages now. You can always rely on the RedIce team to come up with the goods. Mind you i do agree that he really does sound like Dr. Strangelove. Spooky!
#2 - Stevo79 - 01/29/2010 - 23:19
dr. strangelove ?
Holger kinda' sounds like him. good show.
