Mars in Libra July 29 - September 14

Astrologically, Mars is associated with confidence and self assertion, aggression, sexuality, energy, strength, ambition, and impulsiveness. Mars governs sports, competitions and physical activities in general. In medicine, Mars presides over the genitals, the muscular system, the gonads, and adrenal glands. Mars is the passionate impulse and action, the masculine aspect, discipline, will-power, and stamina.

Libra is the seventh Sign of the Zodiac. The first six Signs represent personal development, while the second six represent man's turning outward to other people. Libra is the first Sign in this half of the Zodiac, and thus it's the first Sign of reaching out to others -- they strive to create balance and harmony between self and other. It represents marriage and partnership, the most basic ways for people to come together. As the seventh Sign, Libra also rules the seventh House: the House of Partnership.

In Libra, Mars energy must recognize the universal law that for every action, there is an equal reaction. Libra is symbolized by the scales which must be equally weighted to be in balance. Mars in Libra demands that actions taken be fair and balanced for all. Yes, Mars is the planet of action, but in Libra, that impulse remains dormant, until the situation is mentally weighed. All possible options for responding get tossed around, and this can lead to a passive approach, where actions never go beyond the idea stage. There's a lot of pent up energy here, that can lead to provoking others, in order to get the desired response.

Business alliances, partnerships, and financial counterparties are emphasized. New alliances quickly form and established ones can encounter difficulties/break up. Since Libra is ruled by Venus, banks and the financial sector in general are emphasized. Libra's scales also represent justice, and there will probably be an acceleration of legal settlements.

Libra also rules beauty, fashion, interior design, the art market, jewelry, and public relations. These products and services could get a temporary lift.

Lastly, Libra is the sign of the diplomat. While Mars is in Libra, parties put more effort and energy into being fair and reaching agreement. Venus/Libra energies usually desire peace and harmony, but Mars can tend to make all sides more aggressive about promoting their own agenda.
