Earth's north magnetic pole racing towards Russia due to core flux

Earth's north magnetic pole racing towards Russia due to core flux A new research has determined that Earth's north magnetic pole is racing toward Russia at almost 40 miles (64 kilometers) a year due to magnetic changes in the planet's core. The core is too deep for scientists to directly detect its magnetic field. But researchers can infer the field's movements by tracking how Earth's magnetic field has been changing at the surface and in space.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse (also a Blue Moon) December 31st; Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn; Mars Retrograde in Leo

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur in Cancer, in conjunction with the Fixed Star Alhena, a star in the constellation Gemini (located in the feet of the Twins). According to Ptolemy, Alhena, has the nature of Mercury and Venus. It bestows imminence in art, with interest in the sciences but gives liability to accidents effecting the feet. Cancer is a water element and energetic cardinal energy, therefore with the Full Moon in Cancer, some individuals may feel swept into the high currents of emotions, sorrows or have prickly irritations come up. It is even possible to absorb others emotional gunk if you are not careful. A Lunar Eclipse is a time of beginnings, endings, exposure and major changes. It always has something to do with "relationships". Look out as a Lunar Eclipse also tends to cause emotions to run high!

Additionally, Mercury is in Retrograde until Jan 16, 2010. In mythology, Mercury is the messenger of the gods. Astrologically, the planet Mercury is said to be associated with or to rule all activities that relate to communications, travel, learning. As we all know, Mercury in Retrograde is not a good time for contracts, travel, purchases, or making important decisions. It is a good time for reviewing, revising, catching up and cleaning out the metaphorical closet. To top that off, Mars is in Retrograde in Leo until Mar 10, 2010. Mars retrograde gives rise to irrational action; introspection; depression and self-assessment; sexual issues and relationship conflicts. Major rethinks and reorientation of current projects are also often required.

It sounds as though this New Year's Eve will be highly charged! The suggestion would be to limit the alcohol as emotions may be running wild, avoid stressful people/situations/places, don't travel, look out for your feet, cut off toxic relationships, go deep and purge purge purge! Hey, "Once in a Blue Moon" and the next one won't happen until 2012!

This list of "Popular New Year's Resolutions" was posted on
Lose Weight, Manage Debt, Save Money, Get a Better Job, Get Fit, Get a Better Education, Drink Less Alcohol, Quit Smoking Now, Reduce Stress Overall, Reduce Stress at Work, Take a Trip, Volunteer to Help Others, Health-e-Cards for Holidays and New Year

They forgot to add "Stop Paying Taxes to Fund a Bunch of Crooks," which would eliminate the need for most of these "resolutions."

Trade that Ox in for a Tiger

According to the Chinese Five Element Astrology Calendar, 2010 is the Year of Yang Metal Tiger, which begins on February 14, 2010 and ends on February 2, 2011. The overall theme is one of change and unpredictability, and so all signs will benefit from remaining flexible and adaptable to changeful conditions in 2010. While caution and moderation were advised in 2009, the Year of the Ox, flexibility and the ability to deal with change are essential qualities in 2010.

The Tiger's independent, innovative, assertive, leading, and honorable traits are qualities that will be especially favored in the year of the Tiger.

The celebration of the New Year is the oldest of all holidays. It was first observed in ancient Babylon about 4000 years ago. The Babylonian new year celebration lasted for eleven days. Each day had its own particular mode of celebration, but it is safe to say that modern New Year's Eve festivities pale in comparison.
