"But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him." (Genesis 37:4)

Many Christians in America fear that a Zionist network is trying to vilify and erase their religion…

…and they believe these Zionists are loyal to the Talmud. As each blow is felt by Christians (like "Merry Christmas" becoming a taboo expression last year), a retaliation is launched, often now in the form of an article exposing ugly passages from the Talmud to show the evil of Judaism.

Neither Christianity nor Judaism will be defended here. Both are based on the crazed belief that the Creator of the Universe actually did talk to these Israelite cave-priests of the Bible three millennia ago, and both pretend to be the true and correct understanding of the Old Testament writings. God is talking to all of them, to the old Levite priests, the new Jewish rabbis, and the newer Christian ministers. Is it possible that all humanity is insane? "God likes us the best." "No, he likes US the best!" Gracious! You're all so perfect, how will God ever choose?

So what IS Zionism? Is it Judaism? As stated in Pt 1, the Zionist idea comes from the Bible, particularly the stories about David and Solomon (Books of 2Samuel and 1Kings) and their proto-Zionist Empire. David was the only Israelite king (other than the 7th century child-king Josiah), in the north or south territory, who gave the Levite priests total religious-legal power and military influence. David promised the Levites they would be his family's only priests, forever. The Levites promised that they and their god would exclusively support David's family as rulers of Israel, forever (2 Samuel 3:9-10 / 1 Kings 8:22-26 & 9:2, 4-5 / 2 Kings 8:19 / 1 Chronicles 14:2 / Psalm 89:3-37 / Isaiah 9:7 / Jeremiah 33:17-18 / Ezekiel 37:25). The prophets continually restate these promises as God's orders. This god, once he had the devotion of warrior David and his tough-guys, ordered that all local lands were to be controlled, all local peoples were to be enslaved or killed or driven away (Deuteronomy 20:10-18 / Numbers 33:50-56 / Exodus 23:31-33), and all local religions were to be stamped out. These orders are presented in the Bible as a revelation to the Levite priests from their god! Whatever had to be done to achieve these ends was acceptable. David and his Levite buddies were taking over - that was the plan then, and that is the plan today. "This land is ours. Our god said so…"

Aside from Zionism's biblical roots, should we assume that Zionists are loyal to the Talmud? When attacking Zionists, is it logical to attack rabbinical Judaism? Will that hurt them? Here are a few choice quotes from the Babylonian Talmud.

[Talmud and Maimonides quotes are from Michael A. Hoffman II & Alan R. Critchley's "The Truth About the Talmud: A Documented Exposé of Supremacist Hate Literature" ©2000 http://www.hoffman-info.com/talmudtruth.html]

Erubin 21b - Whosoever disobeys the rabbis deserves death and will be punished by being boiled in hot excrement in hell.

Hagigah 27a - states that no rabbi can ever go to hell.

Yebamoth 98a - All gentile children are animals.

Remember that these are interpretations, by various ancient rabbis, of specific Bible verses. Some of it is hilarious: Anyone who disobeys a rabbi will go to hell and be boiled in excrement! And rabbis can't go to hell! This is good news for rabbis. But the Bible never says these words, nor did rabbis even exist when it was written. It does, however, say that anyone who disobeys a Levite priest is to be killed (Deuteronomy 17:11-12).

The Israelites referred to all the peoples they hated as the "nations". In Latin this word became "gentez", and in English it evolved into "Gentiles". Today it means "anyone not Jewish". But 99.98% of the human race isn't Jewish! It's funny we'd need a word for that, like labeling every human being a "non-Martian".

The Bible supports the idea that gentile children are animals, or at least their equals. The Israelites are separated as a "clean" people from the nations, the Gentiles, who are lowly and dirty.

"All the nations are as nothing before him, they are accounted by him as less than nothing and emptiness." (Isaiah 40:17)

Non-Israelites aren't valuable like real human beings, but can be useful property, like furniture and cattle.

"When you draw near to a city to fight against it…and when the Lord your God gives it into your hand, you shall put all its males to the sword, but the women and the little ones, the cattle, and everything else in the city, all its spoil, you shall take as booty for yourselves; and you shall enjoy the spoil of your enemies …" (Deuteronomy 20:10-14)

More Talmud:

Abodah Zarah 36b - Gentile girls are in a state of niddah (filth) from birth.

Abodah Zarah 22a-22b - Gentiles prefer sex with cows.

Sanhedrin 57a - When a Jew murders a gentile, there will be no death penalty. What a Jew steals from a gentile he may keep.

"Niddah" is a Hebrew word that means filth, but is used to refer to women who are menstruating (they have to leave the village and stay in the wilderness until the bleeding stops - Leviticus 15:19-24 & 20:18). The statement that all gentile girls are born in this state is disturbing, but again it doesn't really conflict with the Bible. Even Israelites who didn't follow their religion were considered filthy, and were told to expect the same fate as the nations. The rabbi who wrote this was referring to any heathen, anyone who was not following his religion, being filth; Jews weren't exempt. Israelites who break laws about respecting their parents (Leviticus 19:3), but still think they're good just because they're the Chosen People ("pure in their own eyes"), are one example:

"There are those who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers, those who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not cleansed of their filth…" (Proverbs 30:11-12)

Even in the astounding statement that "Gentiles [the original likely says "heathens"] prefer sex with cows", there is harmony with the Bible. As non-Israelites are cattle, and as cattle only have sex with other cattle and would prefer it that way, then a rabbi can conclude that Gentiles prefer sex with cows. And no one ever got in trouble for killing or stealing from a cow, so it follows that an Israelite should not get in trouble for killing or stealing from a Gentile.

Gittin 70a - The Rabbis taught: "On coming from a privy (outdoor toilet) a man should not have sexual intercourse till he has waited long enough to walk half a mile, because the demon of the privy is with him for that time; if he does, his children will be epileptic."

Gittin 69a - To heal his flesh a Jew should take dust that lies within the shadow of an outdoor toilet, mix with honey and eat it.

Gittin 69b - To heal the disease of pleurisy ("catarrh") a Jew should "take the excrement of a white dog and knead it with balsam, but if he can possibly avoid it he should not eat the dog's excrement as it loosens the limbs."

Magic and superstitious healing ideas, which the Bible warned against, were clearly practiced by the early rabbis. These odd fellows turned the Levite religion upside down; the "Laws of Moses" forbade this kind of stuff.

There are insults leveled at Jesus that deeply offend Christians, and they hardly deserve any defense. Telling your followers that another religion's god is in hell boiling in excrement (Gittin 57a) is just not nice. But Jesus, an Israelite, had spawned a religion that set itself against Judaism. So Judaism's leaders portrayed him as an evil pied piper who got what he deserved (boiling excrement!).

Sanhedrin 43a - It is taught that on the eve of Passover Jesus was hung, and forty days before this, the proclamation was made: Jesus is to be stoned to death because he has practiced sorcery and has lured the people to idolatry...He was an enticer and of such thou shalt not pity or condone.

In the Old Testament, the Levites regularly cite sorcery as one of the worst possible sins. The Israelites are ordered to avoid all fortune-telling and magical religions.

"The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so." (Deuteronomy 18:14)

Even the Pharisees (rabbis) of the New Testament accused Jesus of being demon-possessed, to turn people against him.

"And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub!"" (Mark 3:22)

As for the curses that all Christians are deserving of death…

"Accordingly, if we see an idolater (gentile) being swept away or drowning in the river, we should not help him. If we see that his life is in danger, we should not save him." (Maimonides, Mishnah Torah, Moznaim Publishing Corporation, Brooklyn, New York, 1990, Chapter 10, English Translation p. 184. The Hebrew text of the Feldheim 1981 edition of Mishnah Torah states this as well.)

Maimonides (11th Century CE), often called "Israel's greatest philosopher", makes a reasonable interpretation here. The Bible orders the Israelites to kill or subdue all non-Israelites. If one is dying, it's because God wants it. Why intervene?

"You must destroy all the peoples the Lord your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity…" (Deuteronomy 7:16)

Zion-ism and Talmud-ism both seem to find support in the Bible, uncomfortably at times, but they do all connect. So, what is Jews-Against-Zionism?

Many Jewish people say that Judaism and Zionism are the same thing. Apparently anyone who believes differently is anti-semitic, and the attempted separation of the two is a ploy by anti-semites to drive wedges between different parts of the Jewish population, while misinforming the rest of the world about what Jews are up to. To believe this, you have to be ignorant of the different factions of Judaism.

Here's a perfect example: The Central Rabbinical Congress (CRC), an organization of orthodox rabbis in Toronto and New York, and the Jews Against Zionism (JAZ, aka True Torah Jews), were established around 1974, and are supported by tens of thousands of followers. They, and many Jewish writers, are saying that Judaism and Zionism are enemies…

(see http://www.jewsagainstzionism.com/rabbinicalcourts/crc/index.cfm, and http://rense.com archives).

They say that Judaism is the true, pure, religious assimilation of the Bible, whereas Zionism is an extremist political offshoot. JAZ and CRC say that the state of Israel should not exist. They say that Israel's atrocities against Palestine, in the name of protecting this state, are anti-Judaism. To them, the Biblical orders to clear the land and take Jerusalem are meant as predictions, rather than instructions. None of these things can occur until the messiah comes.

This is supported by the prophet Ezekiel, who was disgusted with Israel's bloody behaviour. He said that, as punishment, all previous promises from God had been suspended. The Levites would lose the priesthood and David's family would lose the throne.

"…this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Take off the turban, remove the crown. It will not be as it was…" (Ezekiel 21:25-26)

Only the messiah himself will be allowed to reactivate the throne and temple.

"The Lord said to me, "This gate is to remain shut. It must not be opened; no one may enter through it. It is to remain shut…The prince himself is the only one who may sit inside the gateway to eat in the presence of the Lord."" (Ezekiel 44:1-3)

"I will make it a ruin! It will not be restored until he comes to whom it rightfully belongs; to him I will give it." (Ezekiel 21:27)

God told King David that he would set up the new order himself.

"The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you. When your days are over and you rest with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you…and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever..." (2 Samuel 7:11-13)

Until God does these things, Jews must wait. This is a fairly humble interpretation of the Torah. JAZ feel they must earn their special position, and that they have no right to force the situation; it will be changed for them by the messiah, and not before they're ready.

Jews Against Zionism are viewed by Zionists as enemies, traitors; their existence has never been reported in Toronto media (and rarely in NY), though they've issued press statements for 32 years; and in Israel they are attacked and beaten when they protest. These are orthodox rabbis with Jewish followers.

In the opposite corner, we have a rabbi in Jerusalem (originally from Montreal, Canada), called Joseph Gerlitsky. He and others of his ilk decided, or were encouraged, to pollute the message of the Central Rabbinical Congress, so they made off with the CRC's name and are spreading an opposing message. They're called the Rabbinical Congress For Peace (RCP), and they began their business in the last few years (I've found it impossible so far to discover the exact date, which helps disguise the fact that they're new). RCP's style is copied from the CRC's: both begin their statements by saying that the rabbinical side of the story is not being heard; that they are a group of orthodox rabbis in Toronto and New York (and Israel)…

Now, whereas the CRC will say that killing Palestinians and occupying their land is against Judaism, Gerlitsky's mob says exactly the opposite: http://www.scribeus.com/news_pr_040714.html.

They have announced that Israel must NOT leave the occupied territories; God told them to take this land and never give it up. How they got it is immaterial, Gerlitsky claims; they're supposed to possess it, and to them, giving it up would actually be against God's orders. They believe if they DON'T do these things, the messiah will not come. They have to prepare the way. And like the CRC, they can use the Bible and the Talmud to back this up.

We have orthodox rabbis in opposite corners arguing opposite positions, based on the same set of teachings: the same Bible, the same Talmuds, and the same stack of thousands of rabbinical writings. How does this happen?

Haters of the Talmud ignore the fact that rabbinical writers can also be highly critical of the status quo. In "Dangerous Halakhah", Haim Cohen writes:

" "Halakhah" is rabbinic law and legal rulings. Their present making is a bear-garden. Hundreds of rabbis issue rulings - each on his own judgement, each to his own flock - which state laws to flout, [and] what commands soldiers are to disobey. This bear-garden made it possible for a religiously-observant student to righteously murder the Prime Minister of Israel." http://www.free-judaism.co.il/eng/Epuindx1.html

We saw that some Jewish writers thought killing Gentiles (or at least leaving them to die) was okay. By extension, it was figured Israelite courts shouldn't waste time trying such "crimes". This rabbi angrily curses those who believe this. Even if they get away with it now, when they face God he will surely punish them:

"… but the shedding of the blood of non-Israelites, while not cognizable by human courts, will be punished by the heavenly tribunal (Mek., Mishpatim, 80b)."

Here is a commentary by a devout Jewish writer, who is appalled by what the Bible says about killing Gentiles, and how it's been interpreted by history's Talmudic writers. http://www.daatemet.org.il/parasha/en_korach.html

Even the Bible turns itself around with stuff like this:

"Do not oppress an alien; you yourselves know how it feels to be aliens, because you were aliens in Egypt." (Exodus 23:9)

"When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him. The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt…" (Leviticus 19:33-34)

Now, in a world-domination context, this next passage predicts that the Israelites will sit above other peoples, majestically reigning over them.

"And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising." (Isaiah 60:1-3)

BUT, a rabbi can reasonably interpret this to mean: that the Israelites must groom themselves into such a truly outstanding example of humanity that others will simply come to them out of admiration. There's nothing wrong with this desire; it can only be fulfilled through hard work and suffering. All yogis and spiritual masters have striven for the same thing.

Now…the questions again: Is Judaism the same as the Old Testament? Is Zionism the same as Judaism?

So far, we have seen that:

1) The Old Testament is a collection of Levite-directed writings.

2) Zionist behaviour is supported by the Levite writings, often.

3) The Talmuds and all rabbinic writing, which comprise Judaism, are the accumulated interpretations of the Old Testament Levite writings.

4) Zionist attitudes are supported by the Talmud and Judaism, often.

5) Judaism is no ONE thing; rather it is the thousands of possible combinations of rabbinical interpretations, which could produce thousands of possible Judaisms.

Sects and The City

Let's add one further complication: There's a sect of Jews called the Kara-ites (means "those who tore away"), who started up in the 8th Century AD and live to this day on a mountain near Jerusalem. From the beginning, the Kara-ites rejected the rabbis and their Oral Law, living strictly according to the literal words of the Torah (Genesis to Deuteronomy). They still offer animal sacrifices. To them, the Torah's words are the purest form of their god's message, and the rabbis are deluded. For 1,400 years, Kara-ite policy has been to follow only the Written Law, and that is Judaism to them.

Most modern Jews tend to believe that following the Written Law without the Oral Law is wrong, an 'incomplete Judaism'. The rabbis need their followers to believe that the Oral Law is at least as old as the Written Law; otherwise they can't teach it as Moses' doctrines, and they'll lose their position of authority. They can't acknowledge an exclusive Levite religion that preceded their Jewish religion - it must all be seen as one package. But just because the rabbis say their interpretations are what God really means, doesn't guarantee that it's true. And it's never been enough to convince the Kara-ites.

Kara-ite-ism is yet another permutation: Jews can follow the Written Law only, and still call it Judaism. Most Jews think of this as an extremist fringe sect, but they can't say that following the Old Testament is against Judaism. The Kara-ites would demand some kind of proof that Moses supplied the Oral Law…and there isn't any. The Kara-ites would only laugh.

Zionism is not in great conflict with the Bible. Is it in conflict with Judaism? It depends on which version you're looking at, and each version revolves around the interpretations of particular Bible passages.

If you say, "Zionism is against Judaism", it means your version of Judaism believes "Kill the natives and take their land" doesn't really mean "Kill the natives and take their land".

If you say, "Zionism and Judaism are one and the same", then your version of Judaism has no problem with that Bible instruction: killing and stealing land is okay because the Bible says so; the Zionist plan to clear Palestine of Arabs is God's plan.

If you say, "Zionism is a political movement that has nothing to do with religion", you are wrong. Zionism IS a religion. It is directly based, like Judaism and Christianity, on the Old Testament-Levite propaganda. And it is Judaism, as much as Kara-ite practices are Judaism. But it is its own entity; one that masquerades as a comrade of the Bible and Judaism and Christianity, and embraces aspects of all three. But Zionism is in fact the enemy of all of them, a ravenous mutation born of unholy alliance. True to its biblical blueprint, Zionism is out for itself and will sacrifice anyone who gets in the way, Jew or not.
