Happy Pi Day! March 14, or 3/14 is recognized by math geeks as Pi day. That happens every year. There is a large variety of ways of celebrating Pi Day and most of them include eating pie and discussing the relevance of pi.
Pi is an infinite number. It never ends and never repeats itself, which makes it an irrational number. Something as simple, and seemingly knowable, as the circumference of a circle divided by its diameter is a value that can never be fully known. Pi is also a transcendental number, meaning that it can’t be expressed algebraically (as a fraction, for example).
Pisces is the sign of transcendence because, as an archetype, it characterizes a space without boundaries—even common ones. Pisces represents the vast, undifferentiated ocean of consciousness. It’s irrational because it’s outside the boundaries of the physical world, of time and space.
