Dinesh D'Souza is accused of giving too much money to a candidate who sought to replace former New York Sen. Hillary Clinton. Conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, whose documentary 2016: Obama's America took a critical look at President Barack Obama and was a surprise hit in 2012, will be arrested ...
Maybe the Most Orwellian Text Message a Government's Ever Sent
"Dear subscriber, you are registered as a participant in a mass disturbance." That's a text message that thousands of Ukrainian protesters spontaneously received on their cell phones today, as a new law prohibiting public demonstrations went into effect. It was the regime's police force, sending protesters the perfectly dystopian text message to accompany the newly minted, perfectly dystopian legislation. In fact, ...
Pesticides are making bees 'shrink'
Experts have long believed there is a connection between bees, pesticides, and the worrying decline of the insect population. Colony Collapse Disorder has puzzled and concerned scientists, and a new study has revealed that a common pesticide used on flowering plants (pyrethroid) stunts the growth of bees, making them smaller. Smaller bees may be less effective at harvesting honey and pollination, vital ...
FBI Drags Google Glass Man From Theater on Piracy Fears
Google Glass is expected to transform the way that people interact with data and communications but for one unlucky user a paranoid reaction to the device ended up becoming a huge time waster. After wearing a turned off and prescription lens-equipped model to the theater, a man had it torn from his face on suspicion he was engaging in movie ...
Witch Hunt: Under the pretext of promoting mental health, the DSM stifles dissent
The New Malleus Maleficarum: The DSM Reconsidered In 1486, the dominant ecclesiastical authority published The Malleus Maleficarum (translated: The Witch Hammer). Written by two Dominican Priests, this infamous text claimed to be an authoritative guidebook that could be used to identify practitioners of witchcraft. However, the book had more to do with snuffing out the Church’s competition than it did with ...
Astronomers Capture The First Image Of The Mysterious Web That Connects All Galaxies In The Universe
For the first time, astronomers were able to see a string of hot gas known as a filament that is thought to be part of the mysterious underlying structure that dictates the layout of all the stars and galaxies in our universe. Scientists believe that matter in the universe is arranged into a gigantic web-like structure. This is called the cosmic ...
Scientists Report Teleportation of Physical Objects From One Location To Another
The concept of teleportation comes primarily from science fiction literature throughout human history, but things are changing. It's 2014 and developments in quantum theory and general relativity physics have been successful in exploring the concept of teleportation for quite some time now. Today, numerous teleportation breakthroughs have been made. One example is the work of Professor Rainer Blatt, at the University ...
Nasa says mystery rock on Mars is 'like nothing we've ever seen before'
A mysterious 'jelly doughnut rock' which appeared in front of the Opportunity rover is "like nothing we've ever seen before," according to Mars exploration scientists at Nasa. Experts said they were "completely confused" by both the origins and makeup of the object, which is currently being investigated by Opportunity's various measuring instruments. Images captured by Opportunity show the mysterious rock 'appeared' on ...
New evidence that plants get their energy using quantum entanglement
Biophysicists theorize that plants tap into the eerie world of quantum entanglement during photosynthesis. But the evidence to date has been purely circumstantial. Now, scientists have discovered a feature of plants that cannot be explained by classical physics alone - but which quantum mechanics answers quite nicely. The fact that biological systems can exploit quantum effects is quite astounding. In a ...
John Maynard Keynes and Economic Fascism
To quote something Keynes said back in 1920: "There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose." What is stated ...
Is a mini ice age on the way? Scientists warn the Sun has 'gone to sleep' and say it could cause temperatures to plunge
The Sun's activity is at its lowest for 100 years, scientists have warned. They say the conditions are eerily similar to those before the Maunder Minimum, a time in 1645 when a mini ice age hit, Freezing London's River Thames. Researcher believe the solar lull could cause major changes, and say there is a 20% chance it could lead to 'major changes' ...
Do Schizophrenics Live in Parallel Universes?
The Anomalist posted a link to an article in Psychology Tomorrow titled Do Schizophrenics live in Parallel Universes?. In Quantum physics, objects can exist in different states at the same time. You know, Schrodinger's cat and all that stuff. Today, psychologists are poking around with an interesting theory about schizophrenics and their mental states and the galactic complexity of Parallel Universe ...

New Moon & Mercury Enters Pisces

The second New Moon occurs on January 30 at 10 degrees Aquarius. We can look at things with a fresh view, an opportunity to think outside the box. All this will be rather easy because Aquarius is happiest when he is shaking things up. He enjoys presenting the world with a new way to do things and a new way to see things.

The Aquarian focus brings in the mental/intellectual element and expression of ideas and ideals. It is a favorable month to cooperate with like-minded individuals to achieve mutual goals. An alignment with Jupiter in Cancer encourages us to broaden our horizons and widen our perspective. The Sabian symbol for this degree, "During a silent hour, a man receives a new inspiration which may change his life; the need to rely upon inner inspiration and guidance at the start of new developments," suggests that we take time for some introspection in order to receive new insights from our guides/high self.

1/31/14 Mercury Enters Pisces - Get ready for some mental meandering! Communication planet Mercury moves into dreamy Pisces on Jan. 31, 2014, and our minds are now likely to go off-course to places words cannot describe. At first, Mercury will only be in Pisces for five days before turning retrograde from February 6-28. On February 12, Mercury will slide back out of Pisces into Aquarius until it begins moving forward again on February 28. Finally, Mercury will move into Pisces on March 17 and stay through April 7. Managing details will be more difficult with Mercur in Pisces, especially during Mercury Retrograde. It will be a very creative time, but not so sharp when it comes to thinking and communication.
