Comet Elenin Reaches Perihelion on September 10, 2011 & Full Moon in Pisces on September 12, 2011 & Mars in Cancer until September 18, 2011

Comet Elenin, also known by its astronomical name C/2010 X1, will make its closest approach to the Sun (perihelion) on September 10, 2011, and shortly thereafter line up with Mercury, the Sun, and the Earth. Then a month later on October 16th, Elenin will be closest to Earth at a distance of about 22 million miles, or not much closer than the planet Venus.

The New Moon is the essence and the start of the gathering of the light, and the Full Moon is when we begin to care for and support that which we have gathered together and created. The coming Full Moon in Pisces on September 12th does not fail to fulfill its promise as it lifts and rips off the veil over our inner truths, allowing us to have better access to them. This is a time to go within your inner spiritual sanctum and lift off the veil to see what truths and secrets are at your disposal and what gifts and blessings you possess. Take time to understand who you are and where you need to be, yet have an understanding that you are where you should be.

There is also a Grand Trine from Mercury to Pluto and Jupiter. A Grand Trine, especially one involving Jupiter, is a mixed blessing, because although it seems to multiply the easy fortune associated with the benefic trine aspect, it is also likely to make us overconfident and so less aware of the potential problems in given situations. Lift that veil and get to know what’s inside and you’ll be fine.

This Full Moon's Sabian Symbol is, “A table set for an evening meal.” If you set the table, get dressed and ready, you’ll be eating well. In conjunction to the Full Moon is asteroid Poseidon, the Greek God of earthquakes and the sea, which could indicate an earthquake, tragedy at sea, or some sort of land/sea dilemma happening around the time of this Full Moon.

Mars is a fiery energy; one that isn't easily expressed in any way besides physically. Cancer provokes emotion - not the kind that's refined through deep meditation, but the kind that comes from knee-jerk reactions. Many Cancer people are overly sensitive; and because they are also very protective, the presence of Mars in this sign encourages everyone to abandon the idea of taking well-considered and deliberate action, and simply reacting to what's going on. People's emotions come right out of them, sometimes without their permission. This is the kind of situation that can lead you to getting punched in the nose for saying something that wouldn't have raised an eyebrow when Mars was in just about any sign.
