Uranus in Pisces (August 13th- March 11, 2011)

Uranus is a sign for 7 years. The Planet Uranus changes signs every 7 years and brings with it change, unexpected events, and sometimes complete upheaval. Uranus moved into the sign of Pisces on December 30, 2003. Since then it has made two brief visits elsewhere but on August 13th, Uranus returns to Pisces until March 11, 2011, where he retraces his steps back to 26 degrees of Pisces. Upon leaving Pisces next March, he won't transit Pisces again for approximately another 84 years.

Uranus represents the force for revolutionary change, the breaking from tradition, and inventiveness and experimentation. If we refuse to express the energy of Uranus within us, preferring to cling to the traditions and limitations of Saturn, then Uranus may manifest as disruptions and sudden changes in our immediate environment, sometimes disrupting our lives completely and forcing us to make needed changes.

Revolutionary Uranus in Pisces can accelerate spiritual changes by breaking down old faiths, perhaps revivifying them in radical forms, or contributing to totally new ways of expressing beliefs. Pisces is, paradoxically, the sign of everything (the last one of the zodiac, containing all the ones that came before) and nothing (experiences beyond ordinary comprehension). Answers, then, may come when we surrender the possibility of finding them in the usual terms.

Uranus brings chaos out of which new life is formed. Initially, we are threatened by the breakdown of the old order, and tend to seek familiar ways to reinstate its familiar boundaries. But the more rigidly we stick to the past, the more violently we are going to be shaken. Working with Uranus requires flexibility, a willingness to discover rather than a will to control. Such openness encourages a freedom to experiment that can spark a revolution in human consciousness. We can liberate ourselves from images of victimhood as individuals and attachment to their wounds for a realization of their purpose and, thus, their value. Pisces is, after all, the ultimate place where separate pieces are connected as part of the whole. Pisces is the end of a cycle, the wrapping up of karmic impressions left on the soul and it throws us into the "deep end" where we deal with the infinite pool of memories, ancestral legacies, past lives, etc.

Additionally, For much of this year, Jupiter has remained close to Uranus and, at times, even trailed right behind him. This continues through to early 2011. Jupiter, who is also currently retrograde, will return to Pisces next month on September 9. Jupiter is the bringer of hope, benefits, happiness and opportunities.
