Military convoys have been arriving with supplies of food, medicine and water, and evacuations are continuing.

Everything is directed by the newly appointed media darling and hero Lt. Gen. Russel Honore, who got a thousand man strong national guard with him.

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin said that Lt. Gen. Russel Honore is a "John Wayne dude" who can "get some stuff done."

The general came to rescue of one young mother trying to carry her twin babies down the street in the terrible heat and humidity of New Orleans, Starr reported. The mother was so exhausted the children were almost falling out of her arms.

Ed comment: It's good with some comic relief among all this tragedy. No, but seriously, it's a good that things are finally moving along. No matter how silly the media can be when they scribble up and play out these kind of hero scenarios.
