Jihadists Attack French Gas Factory, Behead Victim

Will leftist media blame all Muslims for attack like they blamed all whites for Charleston?

A man was beheaded during a suspected ISIS-inspired attack near Lyon in France this morning, with the culprits carrying an Islamic State flag and scrawling Arabic writing on the victim’s head.

The attackers reportedly set off several small explosions as they drove a vehicle into the Air Products factory in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, a US-owned company specializing in industrial and medical gases.

One of the suspects, Yacine Sali, was arrested by police, with other accomplices also being held. The decapitated man was not an employee of the company. Another two victims reportedly sustained injuries.

The arrested suspect was known to security services since 2006.

The attack occurred almost six months after the Charlie Hebdo massacre, during which Islamist gunmen shot 11 people in Paris before going on to kill six more in related attacks.

Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s National Front party, responded to the attack by calling for for “firm and strong measures” to be taken “immediately” to “defeat Islam.”

It will be interesting to see the left’s response to the attack, given that they routinely make apologies for Islamic extremism, while blaming white people collectively for attacks such as last week’s Charleston shooting.

In the aftermath of the attempted jihadist attack on a Muhammad art exhibit in Garland, Texas last month, numerous different media outlets attempted to blame the cartoons for the attack and not the actual terrorists or the violent ideology that underpinned their motive.

Given the aggressive move to ban the Confederate flag in the aftermath of the Charleston shooting, this incident also serves to remind us that it is stupid to blame violence on inanimate objects.

Another factor to consider is that some people fail to grasp is that ISIS enjoys far greater support amongst Muslims than is commonly believed.

Indeed, a poll conducted last year found that one in six French citizens have a favorable view of ISIS, while a staggering 27% of French citizens between the ages of 18 and 24 sympathize with the terror group.

While the origin of the attackers remains unknown, ISIS has threatened to infiltrate European countries via waves of migrants that routinely attempt to illegally enter via boats which leave from northern Africa.

NATO and the United States’ policy of supporting jihadists in Libya and Syria in the effort to overthrow Colonel Gaddafi and Bashar Al-Assad was partly responsible for the growth of ISIS.

Documents which were unearthed earlier this month confirm that the Pentagon knew its policy of supporting Islamic extremists in Syria would lead to the rise of the Islamic State.
