Reality is often complex, and our current situation with regards to gun control is also complex. With the hindsight of history, we can reduce the problem to a simple equation; When a disarmed people falls to tyranny, untold numbers of lives are lost. There is, however, a back-story to each case. Cycles of history have played out. Human nature ran its course.
Will a ban on guns reach the root of our problems?
Who has the moral authority?
“I wish somebody would shoot this Alex Jones guy in the face.”
This is a statement made by a Twitter user in response to Alex Jones’ gun debate with Piers Morgan. Another reads, “I hope Alex Jones gets taken by terrorists who shoot his arms and legs off…”
“I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup truck and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control…” These are the words of Donald Kaul, writing in the Des Moines Register.
The New York based paper The Journal News recently published the names and addresses of gun owners in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties. As a result, criminals now know which homes to target. As Fox news reports, Ex Burglars are stating the obvious; You just made our job a lot easier.
Meanwhile in Pakistan, nearly 900 civilians have been reported killed since 2004 from drone attacks, many of which have been under Obama’s watch. During this quiet drone war, largely ignored by the general public, 176 children have been reported killed.
In 2011 it was revealed that the ATF intended operation Fast and Furious to be used to make a case for tighter gun control. The operation involved the government placing weapons into the hands of Mexican gangs and allowing them to “walk”. These weapons have been found at the murder scenes of U.S. Border patrol agents. Attorney General Eric Holder, who says he was “unaware” of the fast and furious operation, made the statement in 1995 that government needs to “…really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way.”
The institutions of our society are increasingly seen as morally bankrupt. This perception is not without merit, but its impact on society is multifaceted. Certain groups will attach themselves to the power structure in a life mission to “restore order” by any means necessary. This scenario has happened many times before, and it always leads to revolution.
Gun control is a focal point for all of our society’s woes. The second amendment represents an inherent right to self defense. It is a natural right that is not given or taken. It is innate. It is a right that upstanding people hope to never invoke, but it is there as a safeguard against such times as these.
Can a society steeped in decay and rotting foundations resolve its problems without trial? History provides the answer.
The surveillance state, which has grown dramatically over the last decade, thrives when mistrust abounds. Are there real threats? Of course there are. The world is dangerous. However, when a healthy society exists these threats are dealt with but social cohesion and trust remains. Despotism needs broken families and broken community.
The system – in its mechanized, wicked desire to perpetuate itself – has convinced many of us that we will be protected and rewarded for following its directives and turning our neighbors in to the authorities, but the truth is that we all lose when this happens. Evil will feed evil.
“No vice of the human heart suits it [despotism] better than egoism: a despot will be quick to forgive the people he governs for not loving him, provided they do not love one another.” – Alexis de Tocqueville, Democracy in America, 1835
Humanity has been given a conscience. It is present in every human being – in the absence of mental illness – regardless of race color or creed. We have the capacity to recognize evil, denounce it, and reach for a higher standard. All of us have the free will to follow it or not to follow it.
C.S. Lewis, writing in his 1947 book The Abolition of Man, reminds us that there truly exists a phenomenon called natural law, or the Tao as Lewis calls it. Natural law has been recognized for as long as history has been written. To deny it takes the conscious effort of a normal human being. The idea of inalienable rights – the foundation upon which the United States Declaration of Independence was written – springs from natural law.
The individuals who have rebelled against the Tao have risen in the ranks of power. They constitute what has been called a pathocracy. These parasitic groups have formed in every civilization that has existed on earth. In the end, they wage war against the people of the host nation. This group feeds the evil side of humanity, and when it is expressed in all its horror it is used to further erode our liberties.
Within the field of political science is a study called political ponerology, the study of evil applied to politics. Every time a society falls into the hands of a brutal dictator, nearly identical patterns can be observed. Andrew M. Lobaczewski’s ground breaking 1998 book entitled Political Ponerology discusses in depth the nature of psychopaths and their exploits when in positions of power.
“The actions of [pathocracy] affect an entire society, starting with the leaders and infiltrating every town, business, and institution. The pathological social structure gradually covers the entire country creating a “new class” within that nation. This privileged class feels permanently threatened by the “others”, i.e. by the majority of normal people. Neither do the pathocrats entertain any illusions about their personal fate should there be a return to the system of normal man.”
“Thus, the biological, psychological, moral, and economic destruction of this majority of normal people is a “biological” necessity to the pathocrats.”
Our very human fiber is being targeted. Every day more people are coming to mirror the demoralized and decadent elite. This is not by accident.
We must be able to defend ourselves against these people when they take hold of the reigns of power. A well armed people with their hearts set on goodness and filled with righteous indignation is the only fail safe against them, and it brings me no pleasure to make that realization.
Anglo-Saxon Sword and Helmet from Staffordshire Hoard Reconstructed 2015-05-29 0:49
Thousands of metal fragments from the Staffordshire Hoard have been reconstructed into two "significant" new 7th Century objects.
Researchers have pieced together parts of a silver helmet and a previously unseen form of sword pommel.
The hoard, which is valued at £3.2m, was found in a field near Burntwood, Staffordshire in July 2009.
Both items have been put on display at Birmingham's Museum ...
ALEC corruption: Legislators and corporate lobbyists meet in secret at Savannah resort 2015-05-28 23:59
The Georgia Legislature has a message for voters: don't ask us about our meetings with corporate lobbyists behind closed doors.
The 11Alive Investigators tracked lawmakers to a resort hotel in Savannah last week, where we observed state legislators and lobbyists mingling in the hotel bar the night before they gathered in private rooms to decide what new laws would best serve ...
Swedish politician: US is the true cause of the masses of refugees from the Middle East 2015-05-28 20:13
Editors Note: And who controls US foreign policy? Listen to Jeff Gates.
The present Swedish debate about war refugees from the Middle East is an example of peer restricted expression. In the name of political correctness or perceived decency, any questioning of maximum generosity in opening Swedish borders for the refugees is indignantly rejected by the official mainstream. We have a ...
Even if Patriot Act Expires, Government Will Keep Spying on All Americans 2015-05-28 19:52
Government Will Use "Secret Interpretations" to Get Around Legal Prohibitions
Mass surveillance under the Patriot Act is so awful that even its author says that the NSA has gone far beyond what the Act intended (and that the intelligence chiefs who said Americans aren't being spied on should be prosecuted for perjury).
Specifically, the government is using a "secret interpretation" of the ...
The TPP, Monsanto, Rockefeller, Trilateral Commission, Brzezinski 2015-05-28 19:18
All hands on deck for global, economic, corporate dictatorship
There are dots to connect here. They're real, and they're spectacular.
Let me begin with a brief exchange from a 1978 interview, conducted by reporter Jeremiah Novak. He was speaking with two American members of the Trilateral Commission (TC), a group founded in 1973 by David Rockefeller and his intellectual flunkey, Zbigniew Brzezinski.
